Fin O'Neill, the former CEO of Reynolds and Reynolds Co., has landed at J.D. Power and Associates as senior vice president and general manager of international operations.
In his new position, the well-traveled auto executive will lead J.D. Power's international development throughout the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and Canada. He begins his new job today.
O'Neill, 56, replaces Jamey Power, 45, who will move from senior vice president of international operations to senior vice president and strategic adviser on April 1.
O'Neill left the largest dealership management system vendor Oct. 26, 2007, exactly one year after it was acquired by Bob Brockman's Universal Computer Systems Inc.
At the time, O'Neill said that he had accomplished all he could at Reynolds but was far from done with the automotive industry. He had joined Reynolds, of Dayton, Ohio, in January 2005 as CEO.
O'Neill remained with Reynolds for a year after the acquisition to help Brockman with the transition and merging of the two operations. While at Reynolds, O'Neill was known for reconnecting the company with its dealership customers.
Before joining Reynolds, O'Neill was co-chairman, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motor Sales North America from 2003 to 2005. He also was president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America from 1998 to 2003. He joined Hyundai in 1985 as general counsel, directing all legal, internal audit, insurance and government relations functions.
