New spy photos give a glimpse at BMW’s next green convertible. An i8 Spyder was spotted testing in Sweden, and despite the camouflage, it is clear that the mule is an open-air variant.
BMW i8 Spyder hits the streets
The photos indicate that the convertible’s styling is similar to that of the i8 roadster concept shown at the 2012 Beijing auto show. BMW CEO Harald Krueger said last fall that the i8 Spyder was headed to production. It is expected to go on sale in 2018 for the 2019 model year.
