TO THE EDITOR:
As I’ve had a chance to read about Michelle Savoy (“EEOC complaint prompts BMW inquiry,” July 24; “There’s no excuse for giving workers 2nd-class status,” July 31), I can readily see how one can find oneself in her situation, especially if you like what you’re doing and the work schedule fits your personal circumstances.
What becomes debilitating is when chance and progress don’t come as promised or anticipated, and you keep getting excuses and falsehoods.
I applaud Ms. Savoy for trying to avail herself of an organization that is supposed to have a stellar reputation. Based on her account, individuals betrayed their corporate responsibility by treating workers as they did and expected to get away with it over time.
Her documentation indicates that her points are valid, and HR timelines seem to prove the treatment occurred. I wish her the best as she pursues resolution. Don’t give up, Ms. Savoy.
