Expedition: Ford's hulking family hauler gets a much- needed redesign this year, complete with a new aluminum body, 10-speed transmission and a host of technology features. A hybrid version will debut in late 2019, and the vehicle will get a freshening in 2021.
Autonomous vehicle: Ford plans to introduce a Level 4 autonomous vehicle for commercial use in 2021. It will come without a steering wheel, accelerator or brake pedal, and will be intended for use in ride-hailing fleets such as those of Uber and Lyft. Ford's autonomous vehicle testing to date has been limited to Fusion sedans, but its 2021 vehicle is likely to be a crossover or SUV.
Ranger: Although Ford is late to the midsize pickup party, it will reintroduce the Ranger to North America in early 2019, with production starting late next year. The vehicle will probably resemble the Ranger sold overseas, but likely will have a grille and other exterior design features more closely resembling the F-150 and Super Duty.
