TO THE EDITOR:
Like so many environmentalists from the “old Washington,” Margo Oge thinks she knows what’s best for the auto industry and predicts legal action if the companies don’t meet with her lofty expectations (“Paging Bill Ford,” Sept. 25). Even Oge should know those days are gone. The companies today are building the cleanest cars and trucks in their history. As to the 54.5 mpg standard by the 2025 model year, it deserves a fair midterm review, which was the spirit of the agreement in the first place.
